Katrín Káradóttir is the Programme Director in Fashion Design at the Department of Design and Architecture at the Iceland University of the Arts. Katrín studied tailoring in Reykjavik and fashion design in Paris.
Nordic Fish Leather is located in the North of Iceland where the current techniques of tanning fish leather were developed. Today the company concentrates on developing further its tanning methods to accommodate all customer needs. Apart from tanning the fish skins, the company dyes and finishes the ready fish leather in various colours and styles. In addition Nordic Fish Leather works closely with it´s clients to develop custom made solutions for their production. The client base varies from individual artists and designers to international luxury brands. Nordic Fish Leather is proud of being part of the New Horizon project and has high hopes of excelling it´s current techniques and broaden the awareness of the fashion industry though cooperation and research with the various members of the group.
